Dear MultiOn community,

As we wrap up 2024, I’m excited to share some significant updates about MultiOn's evolution and our vision for the future. The AI landscape has transformed dramatically over the past year, and we're positioning ourselves at the forefront of consumer AI innovation.

Team Updates

Departures

Cofounder Div Garg has decided to depart the company to explore new things. We thank him for what he has done for MultiOn, and are excited to see what he decides to do next.

New Hires

Over the last few months, we’ve made key new hires who will play a significant role in our next phase.

  1. Julia Kiseleva, PhD. Most recently, Julia was a Principal AI Researcher at Microsoft Research where she worked on applied AI applications with focus on Agents and Assistants. Julia and I collaborated when I was at the Microsoft AI Assistant team (now Copilot) and we were the lucky ones to have the opportunity to meet and present our AI Agent work to Bill Gates in 2019. Before Microsoft, Julia worked on AI/ML at Booking.com and Yandex, Russia’s Google.

  2. Julie Supan She is a prolific consumer strategist and advisor who advised early days GTM/positioning for YouTube, Airbnb, DoorDash, Discord, Reddit, Dropbox, and most recently Inflection AI, among others. Until recently, she was also on the board of the SF Ballet.

  3. Blake Menezes Blake brings over 13 years of experience from Autodesk (leading their global social media program), Bright Machines (as the head of growth and demand generation), and Bitski (as the VP of marketing) engaging with millions of consumers and driving revenue growth across businesses.

  4. Gus Holcomb Gus was the founding engineer and VP of engineering at Turo, the car rental marketplace. He also spent 6 years at Snap as an engineering leader from 2015, building key capabilities that helped ensure hyper growth. Fun fact, Gus met Taylor Swift at one of the Snap parties. Most recently, he was an engineering manager at Meta focused on Messenger. We overlapped at Meta when I was working on Instagram’s personalization.

  5. Zhdan Philippov joined us as a Senior Product Designer, having spent the last 6 years at Pinterest working on Discover, Social, Shopping and other experiences. Before Pinterest, he had global experience designing at Yandex, and in China at various consumer Super Apps including RedNote (Xiaohongshu).

Business Updates

  1. Agent Market. The AI Agent market has become crowded, with companies big and small launching their versions of an AI Agent (as a product, platform, or demo). Our team's early experience with consumer AI Agents—dating back to long before the LLM revolution—gives us unique expertise into creating truly valuable user experiences.

  2. Company Evolution. MultiOn has entered our next phase of evolution. We've gained invaluable insights into how consumers can use AI Agents. Now, we're taking this foundation – combined with our collective experiences building consumer AI experiences at Meta, Snap, Pinterest, and Microsoft — to create AI-powered consumer experiences. Building that successfully requires innovation and expertise across AI, engineering, product design, and marketing and distribution. We have a strong bench of players across each of these areas that will position us to win.

  3. New Brand. As a part of this shift to a purely consumer-focused product & technology company, we’ll be rebranding MultiOn in the next two months, putting end-users at the center of everything we do.

  4. Finally. This evolution builds as the natural next stage of our journey in the AI agent space. We're leveraging everything we've learned about agent technology, being an early player in the field, and applying it directly to solve meaningful problems for consumers.

Thank you to our investors, partners and friends for their continued support.
